Dear SHS Families,
As vaccines are becoming more widespread and infections have decreased, we will be welcoming back all students on April 26th. There will no longer be a hybrid schedule and all students will attend classes five days a week. Students who are virtual option may remain virtual option.
We will continue to follow all RIDOH and RIDE guidelines to keep our students and staff safe. Please remind your students about proper mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing.
Students are expected to be in classrooms prior to 7:30 am, the start of the school day. We are eliminating the opening advisory period so instruction will begin at 7:30 am.
Doors 1 and 18 will be unlocked at 7:15 am. Students may grab a free breakfast on the way to their classroom. The cafeteria will NOT be open in the morning. Lockers remain closed.
No more than five students can sit together at lunch and students are encouraged to utilize the courtyard on nice days. Students may sit alone in the cafeteria lounge or library. School lunch for all students is free for the remainder of this school year.
All parking tags have been distributed. Only students with parking tags may park on school property and those parking on school grounds without a tag risk being towed. Additional parking is available at Deerfield Park or the ice rink.
Students attending in person five days per week are expected to be in person daily. Students and families may not choose to go virtual for a day.
Students who have been taking the bus can be picked up and returned home daily.
Full virtual students who wish to move to full in-person learning must email Mr. Kelley by April 20th (email@example.com). Virtual students who wish to remain virtual students will not be permitted to switch to in-person learning for the remainder of the year.
Hybrid students who wish to move to full virtual instruction must email Mr. Kelley (firstname.lastname@example.org) by April 20th. In-person students will not be permitted to move to virtual for the remainder of the year.
Virtual students will follow the new bell schedule for synchronous courses and teachers will continue to post work to Google Classroom. Since teachers will only have ONE virtual period each week, students will need to coordinate any extra help with individual teachers.
The following schedule will begin April 26th and will be in place for the remainder of this school year:
