#Engage, Energize,& Educate

March 26th, 2026

Dear Families,

Thank you for attending our Teaching & Learning Night. We were thrilled by the overwhelming turnout and the strong support from our school community. It was truly a special evening celebrating the incredible work of our students.

A special thank you to Mrs. Barrette for a wonderful spring concert—our students’ talents were on full display. We are also grateful to Ms. Moretti for creating a beautiful gallery of artwork that adorned our hallways and showcased our students’ creativity.

Thank you to Mrs. Clapprood and all of our volunteers for organizing a well-attended book fair and engaging STEM projects on display. We also appreciate our dedicated staff for preparing classrooms that highlighted student learning, especially with the spotlight on writing.

Your presence and support make events like this so meaningful for our students and staff. We are grateful to partner with you in celebrating learning.

Chromebooks

Chromebooks will not go home on Friday March 27th or on future Fridays unless the weather forecast warrants it.

Attendance Matters

This year, we have seen a significant shift in our attendance, moving from number one on the state attendance board to number forty-four. Currently, 46 of our students are identified as chronically absent, meaning they have missed 10% or more of the school days in a given month. Regular attendance is critical to student success, as even a few missed days can impact learning, relationships, and overall progress. We ask for your partnership in ensuring that students are present, on time, and ready to learn each day when they are well, as consistent attendance plays a vital role in maintaining our strong school community and supporting every child’s achievement.

National School Librarian Day is April 2nd

In celebration of National Librarian Day, we would like to recognize Mrs. Clapprood for her dedication to our school community. She fosters a love of reading in all of our students by creating a welcoming, engaging library environment where curiosity and learning thrive. We are truly grateful for her passion, care, and the important role she plays in enriching our students’ educational experiences.

National Paraprofessional Day is April 1st

In honor of Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible paraprofessionals. Their dedication and patience make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students each and every day. We are truly fortunate to have such caring and committed professionals as part of our school community. Thank you for all that you do!

A Message From The SHS Music Dept.

The SHS Tri-M Music Honor Society is putting on a fundraiser! Let us egg your yard!

Allow our students to take one thing off your plate this holiday weekend! Fill out your order on the attached Google Form, and on April 4th we will deliver Easter Eggs to your house - either left at your doorstep, or hidden in your yard! Pick a time for our students to stop by, your difficulty level for hiding as well as quantity of eggs.

This is a fundraiser to help pay for our trip to the Great East Festival at Canobie Lake Park in June! Payment will be taken via Venmo, which you will receive the link to after finishing the form. Send the proper amount and we'll send confirmation!

Thank you for your support!

RICAS Testing In Grades 3, 4, and 5

As we approach state testing, please note that the English Language Arts assessment will take place on March 31 and April 1 (Session 2). Make-up testing will occur in the days following for any students who are absent. We encourage all students to get a good night’s sleep, arrive at school on time, bring a snack, and come prepared to do their best. We remind students to show perseverance and put forth their best effort. Results from state testing will be shared with families in the fall.

Please encourage your child to visit Lost & Found.  We have a large number of sweatshirts, hats, and mittens.  All remaining items will be donated on April 3rd.
