Thank you, Representative Gabe Amo for hosting a state wide symposium on Artificial Intelligence at the Smithfield Public Schools. Ava, a senior at SHS, was the student representative along with a panel of delegates including the Department of Education, Brown U professors, SHS teacher leaders & our district leadership. This symposium was hosted by Rep Amo & our Supt at SHS. Rep Amo is co-sponsoring legislation that will support partnerships between K-12 schools & higher education.


Thanks to several grants we have received, new gardens like this one at Old County Road School are being implemented for the entire school to enjoy.



Students, community members, & volunteers from Bryant University spent a morning beautifying areas outside of SHS before the first day of school. Thank you to all for the awesome work - Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, and even 2029!

Great to see so many families joining us at @SmithfieldSchls today for the 3rd annual Summer STEAM Showcase featuring musical performances, an art gallery, robotics, movie making, & Brown U summer math program.





Our final yearbook distribution will take place in front of PVES tomorrow from 10am to 12pm. If you haven't done so already, please be there to pick up your order!

Congratulations, Mrs. Viera! SSELAC surprised her on Wednesday with the June Positivity Award. She is the first Smithfield administrator to receive this special recognition. Mrs. Viera embodies kindness, positivity, and inclusion every day at Pleasant View Elementary School!

The Special Olympics Torch Run will be passing by Pleasant View Elementary School on Friday 5/31 . It will be a Panda / Unified spiritwear day for staff and students, as we watch and cheer on PVE teacher Mrs. Marshall, PVE parent Kerri Lanzieri, and all of the runners and participants from Smithfield High School and the Smithfield Police and Fire Departments.
