Vision Statement

The vision of the Smithfield High School Counseling Program is to ensure every student will become lifelong learners and successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible, respectful, competent, and productive members of society.  Students will apply the foundational knowledge they have gained in order to achieve greatness in higher education and/or career choices.

Mission Statement

In alignment with the mission of the Smithfield School Department and Rhode Island Department of Education, the mission of the Smithfield High School Counseling Department is to provide every student with a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program. The program will deliver equitable and inclusive opportunities that address students individualized academic, career, and social/emotional development.  While working collaboratively with other educators, parents/guardians, support teams, and the community, school counselors will deliver a curriculum that will provide opportunities for students to learn the skills that will enable them to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers, and lifelong learners.
