SHS Physics Teacher Retiring
Long-time physics teacher, Jack Hurley, is retiring from SHS. Friday was his last day. We wish Mr. Hurley all the best in his next adventure!

All winter athletes and a parent are required to attend the Winter Sports Parent/Student Meeting on Monday, December 9th at 6:30. We will start in the auditorium. @sportssentinels #SHSLegacy
Hello Class of 2024! We are looking forward to having you visit SHS on Wednesday, December 4th from 6-8 pm. The event is open to the entire Smithfield community but the Class of 2024 and any out of district students are strongly encouraged to attend. Participants will have the opportunity to tour SHS, explore our Career & Technology Programs, and meet students and staff.
The Showcase is organized like an Open House and is a drop in event. We encourage families to explore and interact with our teachers and students. All we ask is that you sign in at the cafeteria. During the sign up process, you will receive a map and a list of activities for the evening. We will be running four special sessions in room 101.

Congratulations to SHS senior Vincent Lancellotti. He is our 2019 Leach Award winner. The Leach Award is an award given annually in honor of former Smithfield High School student Thomas "Tommy" Leach, Class of '74, who lost his life at sea while saving the lives of others aboard a commercial fishing boat off of the coast of Massachusetts in 1993. The award is bestowed upon a senior football player who best resembles the qualities that Tommy displayed throughout his life.
Winter sports begin 12/2. All athletes must be registered prior to practicing. Winter Sport Student-Parent Mtg. w/ principal and athletic director Dec 9 6:30-8. GO SENTINELS!
