Congratulations to boys hockey player Connor Derderian for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 27th!
Connor, a sophomore defenseman, scored his first career goal, which ended up being the game winner, and added an assist in a 3-1 victory over Prout School, in a week that also saw the Sentinels tie Bishop Feehan 2-2.

Congratulations to boys indoor track member Zach Semerjian for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 20th!
Zach, a junior, placed fourth in the shot put at the East Coast Invitational with a personal best throw of 42’11”, which was three feet further than his previous best.

The AP tests will be ordered on 2/15. The cost is $94 for each test. Students need to get their payment to Ms. Koller by February 15th. Checks should be made out to Smithfield High School. Any student having difficulty paying for the test, should see Ms. Koller by February 7th.

Do you need expert assistance completing the FAFSA form? If you would like to meet with a College Planning Center representative to complete and submit all necessary FAFSA paperwork at Smithfield High School, please contact the guidance office at 349-4744 and book your appointment. Available dates are January 29, February 5th, and February 12th.

Smithfield Public Schools will be on a one hour delay for Tuesday, January 22, 2018 due to prepare for icy conditions around our schools. 12 month employees should report on time.

Congratulations to boys basketball player Matt Lasalandra for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 13th!
Matt, a junior guard, filled up the stat sheet in a week that saw the Sentinels go 2-1. In a 60-44 victory over Coventry he scored 7 points to go with 11 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists. In a 77-76 loss to East Providence Matt poured in 22 points with 12 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists. To cap off his big week, he scored 28 points with 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots in a thrilling 60-58 win over Cumberland

Congratulations to girls indoor track member Kendra Ezeama for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 6th!
Kendra, a junior set a new indoor school record in the shot put with a throw of 38’ 4”, good for 2nd place at the World Trophy Invitational.
