Congratulations to boys indoor track member Ethan DeBassio for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended February 3rd!
Ethan, a senior boys indoor track member, scored in both the 1500 M (4th Place) and the 1000 M (6th Place) at the RIIL Class Championships. He also anchored the 4x400 Relay team which finished in fourth place. Earlier in the season Ethan broke the school record in the 600 M by 3 seconds. He was also part of the 4x800 Relay team that broke their own previous school record while placing second at the Division Championships.

Congratulations to boys hockey player Connor Derderian for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 27th!
Connor, a sophomore defenseman, scored his first career goal, which ended up being the game winner, and added an assist in a 3-1 victory over Prout School, in a week that also saw the Sentinels tie Bishop Feehan 2-2.
Congratulations to boys indoor track member Zach Semerjian for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 20th!
Zach, a junior, placed fourth in the shot put at the East Coast Invitational with a personal best throw of 42’11”, which was three feet further than his previous best.
The AP tests will be ordered on 2/15. The cost is $94 for each test. Students need to get their payment to Ms. Koller by February 15th. Checks should be made out to Smithfield High School. Any student having difficulty paying for the test, should see Ms. Koller by February 7th.

Congratulations to boys basketball player Matt Lasalandra for being named the Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill SHS Athlete of the Week for the week ended January 13th!
Matt, a junior guard, filled up the stat sheet in a week that saw the Sentinels go 2-1. In a 60-44 victory over Coventry he scored 7 points to go with 11 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists. In a 77-76 loss to East Providence Matt poured in 22 points with 12 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists. To cap off his big week, he scored 28 points with 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots in a thrilling 60-58 win over Cumberland
